Welcome to TrainingWorks! - Employment Skills Training
TrainingWorks! provides a 'Career Planning and Pathway Development' training opportunities programme.
The programme is especially tailored and delivered to meet the needs of people who experience mental ill health. The programme encourages students to increase their employment skills and make informed choices about their future.
The programme supports students, aged 17 and above, in their literacy and numeracy and by developing other knowledge and skills and the confidence needed to succeed in the workplace and wider community.
On entry you will be assessed for your literacy and numeracy skills and an individual programme will be developed for you to gain and improve these skills as you learn. The course can be joined at any time for eligible students and is available for entry 44 weeks of the year.
Students are supported into continuing their training with industry or other education and training programmes or to gain part time or full time employment. This placement could be supported by our EmploymentWorks! service.
To be eligible you need to be referred from a Work and Income Case Manager and complete the required referral conditions.
WALSH Trust is registered as a private training establishment with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
