OUR SERVICES

We offer the following services to people who experience mental ill health:

Welcome to EmploymentWorks! - Supported Employment Services

We understand that the employment world is tough and even more so for people experiencing mental ill health, or physical disabilities, that is why we provide this support.

EmploymentWorks! is a service that supports people in pursuing their employment aspirations; not sheltered work or work preparation programmes, but 'real job for real pay'. EmploymentWorks! provides services to jobseekers, employees and employers following the principles of the Association of Supported Employment NZ which include:

Open Employment
People with impairments are able to participate in the mainstream workforce.
Placement First
Through precise job/person matching and without prolonged 'getting ready' activities of traning, people have access to work opportunities.
Individualised and Ongoing Support
The employer and employees receive tailored support to meet their needs, this support is not time limited and is aimed at maximising job retention.
Choices and Career Development
Services and outcomes are based on the preferences and aspirations of the individual and a commitment to their ongoing career development.

This service is for adults, aged 17 and over:

  • who are waiting to get a job
  • whose ability to participate in employment has been effected by the experience of mental ill-helath
  • who are resident of Waitakere City

EmploymentWorks! is contracted by the Ministry of Social Development and Accident Compensation Coorporation to support people into employment and meet their ongoing support needs until they choose to be independent.

As well as supporting clients in getting work, the service plays a key role in promoting healthy attitudes to work and remaining healthy to fully participate in their chosen career. The service works with employers to ensure that both parties are supported to ensure successful and ongoing employment.

EmploymentWorks! Consultants are experienced in the world of work and can speak of the dramatic difference a job can make to people's lives - how they see their world; how they see themselves; how they see their future.
