ELAINE
UNDERWOOD TERTIARY EDUCATION FUND
Elaine Underwood was one of the co-founders of WALSH Trust when the organisation was established in 1988.
The Elaine Underwood Scholarship was established in memory of Elaine - a special individual who worked tirelessly in the West Auckland community on behalf of those with mental ill health, and whose passion and vision was inspirational to many working within the mental health sector today.
WALSH Trust is committed to the on-going development of community based mental health services through workforce development and involvement in the community. In this regard we aim to facilitate access to educational opportunities for young people and/or users of mental health services through the provision of scholarships.
The specific purpose of this scholarship is to support young people and/or users of mental health services to successfully complete undergraduate study (such as the Diploma in Mental Health) or post-graduate study which has clear relevance and links to the development of community based mental health services in New Zealand.
